Gen 7 Starters announced
Hot diggery damn, they finally let loose the seal! Sun and Moon starters announced, and while as before I'd like to wait until the game actually releases before I form official opinions on them, lemme give you my first thoughts.
Rowlet looks stuffed and lifeless.
Litten looks like something out of Yokai Watch.
Popplio looks like a mistake.
Well, uh... hopefully they all get better evolutions~!

I think Rowlet is the only good one. There's also artwork where he's moving and doesn't look like a potato.

Popplio is a Chinese ripoff of Oshawott.
Whaaat?? Popplio is adorable D': His animations have so much character, plus he is a goofy lovable circus child with a honky nose to boot. I love how cartoony he looks. I really really hope he doesn't turn out like Samurott, I hope he stays a goofball throughout his evolutions because I've been waiting too long for a cartoonishly goofy starter. Not all Pokemon have to be epic or graceful!
ReplyDeletePopplio is definitely my fave, meanwhile Rowlet seems really unique and frankly, super cute, and Litten is honestly quite boring compared to the others, even when he's animated.
ReplyDeleteRowlet looks like I just told him I'll be right back with a treat, and then I left the room and watched him from behind a one-way mirror, and five hours later he's still sitting in the exact same location with the same anticipatory look on his face, waiting patiently but eagerly for the treat.
