See, now we've got a bit of the opposite problem - Goodra was the only member of its line that truly deserved its Dragon typing, but now it's doubled down on the snail motif to justify its Steel typing. Which I support on one hand, because consistency in evolution is key, but on the other hand... doesn't it look unbalanced? Like it can barely move? Hell, I'd just remove the legs and go Full Snail.
also, what's up with that dripping mucus? It's metallic, cuz it's a Steel-type, I get that. But like... why? Is it dripping mercury? Is this some sort of Metal Slime I should kill for massive EXP? Or did somebody just greyscale Goodra and not care about the implications? idk why green slime is so much more acceptable to me than silver slime, but it just is.
As a result of all of this, I somehow like Hisuian Goodra less than the normal version.
Overall: 6/10

Crap, misclicked.
ReplyDeleteI feel you, and I think this is the deal:
for a poison type, you expect not just a liquid, but slime, or goo, or goop. Something that's not just liquid, but viscous, and sticky, and soft. Mercury (or Terminator-juice) is certainly liquid and even viscous, but I don't think it's gooey, or soft. It doesn't leave a trail and you can't leave a handprint in it. The surface tension pulls the liquid together into a smooth mass. And if you changed this, you'd be making it less like metal.
I don't think you can make a fantasyfluid which is both slime-like and metal-like, since those concepts oppose each other.
Counterpoint: Metal Slimes already existed way back in Dragon Quest so people have done both at the same time before. The concepts oppose each other in reality but again, fantasy fluid
DeleteI haven't Dragon Quested so I didn't know that. And you're saying that worked, vibe-wise?
