From one perspective, marketing the game with the early-route birds and rodents, some Galarian forms, and a few random Fairies keeps the actual Pokedex a mystery and allows people to discover the game for themselves. But for people like me, I have to know what I should look forward to, in order to get excited about a Pokemon game.

And boy, did Galar deliver. If we'd know that Toxtricity and Dragapult were headlining the game, I legitimately think a lot of negative press could've been avoided. Because at the end of the day, what matters most is that there's awesome Pokemon to catch.

ReplyDeleteHonestly, major disagree. It's not like I love blipbug or anything, but I think it's kinda fun, but, for whatever reason, I love dottler. For some reason I have a soft spot for pupa pokémon, and I just think dottler is such a cute pupa lol, and the idea of it using telepathy to scan it's surroundings is cool asf. I can appreciate that compared to ledian, orbeetle is a very creative take on a ladybug, but I honestly think it's sorta disturbing, which yes might be the point but idk it doesn't at all appeal to me. I boxed my dottler the moment it evolved to orbeetle so...

Polteageist / I think I have a thing for swirly eyes because I like this guy, Spinda, AND Minior. Purple Is my favorite color and I found Polteageist's animations really expressive. I think It's cute. The first/only Sinistea I caught was authentic somehow
Calyrex / Feel free to roast me lol I didn't like Calyrex either at first and do not blame anyone who doesn't, but It grew on me for no reason even though I didn't buy either DLCs
Cursola / I already liked Corsola alone, and I just resonate with the nightmare regional variant that has a ghost face that looks like It's In agony
Frosmoth / Mommy moth gf-- I mean, super well designed but unfortunately overshadowed by Its pre evolution
Hattrem / This one's cute! I actually made one of the first artworks of It on the Internet
Alcremie / I like It but It feels like one of those Pokemon In the gen that EVERYONE also likes so I don't feel that strongly about It
Galarian Farfetch'd / It's just a banger. I used one for a bit In my playthrough but forgot It evolved which was going to be annoying and I don't like Sirfetch'd as much
Cufant, Chewtle, Snom, Stonjouner, Sobble, Fallinks, Galaian Darmanitan and Gigantamax Melmetal. Like you I was disappointed by the prerelease mons but after the release there were enough of the weird cute class of Pokemon I like.
ReplyDeleteWe both love Toxtricity and Dragapult, so besides those two, Grimmsnarl and Mr. Rime are my favorites. I'd been wanting a Dark/Fairy type since the Fairy type was first announced, and Grimmsnarl (hell, its entire line) came straight out of my dreams. Mr. Rime is just the funniest little guy with so much personality. Also Galarian Darmanitan, OG Darmanitan is my #1 Pokemon ever and I can't complain about an almost-equally-great new form.
