Bruno of the Kanto Elite Four

HOO-HA!!

oh boy Bruno, I can not take you seriously when you stick your chin out like that, holy shiiiiiit

Okay, that's better. No, don't bother to get up, you'll hurt your jaw again.

Anyway, Bruno is a pretty hardcore dude. He wrestles his Machamp, and trains Onix just to punch them and stuff. Not sure why the Fighting-type guy uses Rock/Ground Pokemon, but I guess the Elite Four is pretty lax with their specifications. He still looks like Ryu from Street Fighter except older and more cave-hermit-style, and that is a good thing.

In fact, he's pretty much the ultimate Fighting-type trainer. He's got the muscle himself, the look of someone who's spent years training his Pokemon and his body, and he sits like a boss who isn't even done meditating on how to further improve his biceps when you walked in.

seriously, Bruno is a beast, and could probably beat up most Pokemon with his bare hands. Exactly the sort of Master Trainer I'd expect to find at the Indigo Plateau.

Overall: 10/10

  1. Most of his pokemon in FRLG have a rock type move of some sort and his battlefields always have rocks in them

  2. If you think about it, the Elite four members are not so much based on types, but rather aspects of mountains. Lorelei's team is based off of the ice and snow on a mountain and the water that makes it up. Bruno's team is based off of the rigidity of the mountain and the people who train there. Agatha's team is based off of the monster's that inhabit the caves of the mountain such as ghosts, bats, and snakes as well as the poisonous gases trapped beneath the earth. This can go double for Koga, but his team also includes the denizens of the mountain's trees and grass. Lance's team is made up of the dragons that call the mountain home. Will's team may be based on the sages that people usually find on mountaintops, but that is stretching it. Karen's team could also be based on the bandits that usually inhabit mountains, like the kind you find in other video games.

  3. You should do a review of the new Mega Evolution Pokemon. I just don't know what to make of them. Some of them just seem to be overdesigned (i.e., Mega Ampharos, Mega Blaziken), and some have really been overdue (Mawile, Absol). I don't see why GameFreak didn't just give these Poke's pre-evos and new evos or forms.

    1. all in good time. Just two (long) months until XY drop, and I'll begin my march through the gen 6 pokedex at that time.

  4. It also seems that all Fighting type Gymleaders know of eachother.

Again Sevii-island includes some sugeestions that he trains with GenIII-leader Brawly
