All the Oricorio forms except for the Ghost one are hideous

ReplyDeleteRegarding the normal ones, I don't hate any of them with passion, but a few ones like Trumbeak, Gumshoos, Incineroar and Bounsweet are disappointing.
Yeah, not crazy about Necrozma either. It's other forms are better, but not by much. Gumshoos at number 1 tho'? I mean if it weren't for it's resemblance to a certain treacherous scumbag, it'd probably be forgettable at worst.

ReplyDeleteNecrozma - Give me baby Pokemon or first stage Pokemon or even second stage Pokemon with stupid proportions and I'm fine. Give me final stage Pokemon of "throw-away" lines, and that's cool too, whatever. But I can't take a freaking legendary Pokemon seriously with proportions like this.
Steenee - Look, Bounsweet was adorable. It's Pokedex entries of people thinking it was cute and happy when in reality it's terrified and skipping along for its life is just so endearingly pathetic. And then they turned it into a plant girl that turns into a plant woman and we all know how that turns out among certain Pokemon-ah-"fans". Unforgivable.
Gumshoos - Apparently it's supposed to resemble a detective, but I don't buy it. I do actually like the parodic implications, but I don't want it as my companion.
Alolan Grimer - Living pile of sewage? Fine. Looks like its lower lip is coated in mustard because it won't wipe its damn face? Not fine. Gross. I don't like it.
Alolan Persian - Just a little disappointing, though kind of funny. Alolan Persian's proportions look better as an evolution to standard Meowth, and for the real world cat it's named after. Whereas Alolan Meowth's proportions make it look a little more suited to evolve into standard Persian.
Oricorio Pa'u style - The Baile and Sensu styles are stunningly beautiful. Pom-Pom style is okay, a decent fluffy yellow bird. Pa'u style just looks dumb.
Lycanroc Nighttime - I love daytime Lycanroc as it looks like a wolf you'd encounter in the mountains, a creature that would worry a shepherd's sheep. They could have gone the cutesy route, but they didn't and I'm glad for it. That's why I wish nighttime Lycanroc would be less "cool" and more unsettling. Maybe lose the stylish hair, make the eyes milky and sickly, splotchy fur, perhaps a drooling mouth. Something to evoke rabies, mange, and skinwalkers. That would have been perfect.
Dewpider - Love the concept, but it looks pretty dumb.
Shiinotic - I can't hate a fairy type mushroom Pokemon, but I really wish they'd kept Morelull's theme going. If they had Shiinotic's face and arms at the bottom part rather than the stem, it would be perfect. Mushrooms after all are just the fruiting body that the organism makes to spread its spores. The organism's true body is the mycelium and it can send up multiple mushrooms, as demonstrated with Morelull.
Marshadow - It's just boring.
