No.652: Chesnaught

Well the first two were lacking, but this third form should be able to turn it around, right?

oops.

yeah, something wrong has happened here. We got white fur instead of brown, with big-ass arms like the robot warriors from Laputa or something. Also now he's wearing an armor dome, with giant tan spikes. remember the orange tips? haha, those aren't happening anymore. and while we're at it, throw the world's most awkward-looking lower body on there for good measure.

jesus, this is a mess. Like, it's a different sort of mess than what I would have expected, but it's still terrible. For one, its ignoring nearly everything about its first two forms and coming outta left field. and secondly, it looks like the segmented eggshell king from planet dunkass.

the only good thing going on here is that he's Grass/Fighting, and that his name kicks ass.

Overall: 2/10

  2. I must say I respectfully disagree with you. Chesnaught is easily my favorite Starter from Gen 6, even beating out the Froakie line, and one of my all time favorite Grass Starters, 2nd only to Sceptile.

  3. As I understand it the color has to do with cooked chestnuts turning white.

  4. Don't you see? His entire line is about maturing, Chespin is the young boy, a little chestnut playing with wooden swords while Chestnaught is the aged veteran who has seen things no living thing should ever see.

The chestnut becomes white and cracks open as it ages.

  5. so why does his lower body have stripes? Why the stupidly big arms? Why the red lining?
also, some fighting type this is, if you look at his shell, it seems like he can't even really lift or stretch them
    what an absolute shit design
